Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Ann Arbor Public School Families and Community Members,
In order to maintain and continue improving the outstanding educational opportunities that make the Ann Arbor Public Schools exceptional, it is important to maintain adequate funding for our schools. With state funding for education decreasing, it is important for parents and community members to understand the need for the countywide education millage that will be on the ballot on Election Day this November 3rd.
Please take the opportunity to read through the information on this site to learn more about the countywide millage proposal. We will continue to provide more information to you regarding the proposal over the next couple of months.
We are always available to answer your questions. You can email me, Robert Allen, the Deputy Superintendent for Operations, or Liz Margolis, Director of Communication.

As you consider this millage please keep in mind...
- Our children and grandchildren need the best preparation possible. Whether they plan on getting a four-year degree at a top college or going on to community college or a technical school so they can get a 21st century job, they must have a good elementary, middle and high school education. No matter where they are going after high school, our students have to get the best possible education if they are going to have the skills needed to be successful in the 21st century.
- Strong schools attract jobs. Companies want to locate where there are excellent school systems. If we have a strong public school system, businesses will stay here or come here because we have a highly qualified work force and offer excellent schools for the children to attend.
- All of the money from the millage - 100% -- will stay in Washtenaw County
So please consider this millage seriously. It is imperative that we maintain the exceptional educational opportunities for Ann Arbor Public School students.
Sincerely,
Todd Roberts, Ed.D.
Superintendent
