Announcements for 8-30-10

WELCOME

Welcome to all the new Skyline staff members, students, and parents.  We are happy that you are here and are looking forward to working with you to make the 2010-2011 school year the best year EVER!

LATE REGISTRATION

All students are to report to the Smaller Learning Community Office to register for the 2010-2011 school year.  Students new to Skyline should report to the Main Office for Counselor assignments.

TEXTBOOKS

May be picked up from the Book Depository Monday through Thursday of this week from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Students must bring their 2010/2011 class schedule to pick up books.

PARKING DECALS

To park on the lot at Skyline, all students must have a Skyline parking decal visible. Cars without decals will be ticketed. Students may purchase parking decals in the 4th floor SLC office for $30.00.  This the first year for a large number of our student drivers.  Please be mindful of the traffic patterns and our young drivers.

KUDOS

A heartfelt thank you to the Skyline parents and students who volunteered to assist us with registration last week.  As always, your assistance was genuinely appreciated and very much needed.  Thank you for always lending a helping hand.

FIRST VARSITY FOOTBALL GAME

Skyline will play its first ever Varsity Football game on Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 7 p.m. Opening Ceremonies will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Michigan High School Athletic Association will broadcast the game on Comcast. Please come and cheer on the Eagles!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

School starts on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 7:45 a.m.  Students will report directly to their Skytime classroom that is noted on their class schedule.

APPROPRIATE ATTIRE

At Skyline, we believe that a student's attire and mindset are directly related.  A student who is appropriately attired for school is also more apt to be mentally prepared to engage in active learning. Inappropriate attire worn to school causes a disruption in our student's learning environment and must be avoided at all cost.  Please review the appropriate attire guidelines in the 2010-2011 Skyline Student Guide in hardcopy or on the Skyline Website.

PTSO MEETING

Monday, September 13, 2010 in the Skyline Media Center at 6 p.m.
