Please congratulate seniors Dara Firoozi and 'Cat' Trager for their winning entries in this year's Ann Arbor Art Center "Potential 2012" Show. Both Art students prepared their works in my Art Portfolio course, first trimester.
The Potential juried high school Art show selects works from Ann Arbor schools, as well as Saline, Dexter, Chelsea and other immediate areas. Skyline submitted fourteen entries, and total works chosen are only 58 this year. Way to go, seniors.

March is Youth Art Month!
This is a collaboration between downtown businesses and young artists to celebrate art and music in our community.
The following students have art work on display in the windows of Acme Mercantile at 111 W. Liberty. If you're out and about downtown please take a few minutes to look at their work. If you have them in class please congratulate them.

SOUTHEASTERN SCIENCE FAIR
Skyline students received numerous awards in the Southeastern Science Fair this weekend. Students were working on their projects within the Health & Medicine research component of the magnet.

After School Activities
It is imperative that students who are remaining in school after the dismissal bell at 2:45 pm, be in their assigned area before 3 pm. Only students who are getting academic assistance, staying for a club meeting, practice, or other after school sponsored activities may remain in the building after 3 pm. Students found loitering in the building will lose the privilege to stay after school and may be subject to disciplinary action.
ATTENTION SENIORS AND SENIOR PARENTS
There are approximately 100 students that have yet to order cap and gowns for the June 11, 2012 graduation ceremony. The Standard graduation package includes cap, gown, tassel, senior pin, diploma and a diploma cover for $50+ tax. There are additional packages available, please be sure to read your order forms carefully and pick the correct package that you would like. Orders will not be taken without a payment. Please make all checks or money orders payable to BALFOUR. AFTER Feb 9, 2012 there will be a $10.00 late fee.

Junior Interviews will begin the week of March 19th. Please stop into your SLC Office and sign up for an appointment time with your Counselor, beginning tomorrow!
All POW Members, Mrs. Edwards has a surprise for you! There will be a Mandatory meeting for all POW members on Thursday, March 22nd at 2:45 pm sharp in room A 311.
On Tuesday, March 20th at 1:30 pm(5th period), Skyline Parents are invited to attend the 1 hour presentation of Vincent York's Jazzistry 6-piece Band in the Skyline Auditorium! They will perform along with a visual narrative about jazz history with various students from Skyline Humanities and Music Classes. Skyline's 10th grade Social Studies students and various music/performing arts students and teachers will also be in attendance. The audience will be taken on a 400-year American history lesson, transforming the school auditorium into a multicultural, musical time machine! Please check-in and enter through the Main Office. No taping is allowed of any Jazzistry presentation or performance. More detailed information is available in the March issue of the Eagle's Eye.
There will be a GSA planning meeting Monday, March 12th at 3:00 pm in Ms. Ilaoro's room.
The Skyline DECA chapter attended the DECA State Competition on March 9th-11th in Dearborn, MI. The 18 students who attended won 12 medals and 5 students qualified to move on to the International Competition held in Salt Lake City, April 27th-May 2nd. Dillon Stuart was also elected as a Michigan DECA State Officer for the 2012-2013 School Year.
SKYLINE MEN'S LACROSSE TEAM
Anyone interested in playing Men's Lacrosse this season, whether you're a freshman who has never played before or a senior that wants to play in college. Tryout week and the first full week of practice is going on right now! Tryouts last until March 17th. Tryouts are Monday-Friday at 7:00 pm-9:00 pm.

SKYLINE INTERACT CLUB
All Interact Members and Anyone interested in serving their local and international community through social services: We will be discussing our current and future project on Monday, March 12th after school.
SKYLINE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT
This is a reminder that Skyline Students interested in competing in a Spring Sport must have all registration materials and all fees paid to the athletic office before they will be allowed to practice or tryout. Registration packets are available outside the Athletic Office and can be turned in from 8:00-4:30 pm.
PLEASE turn in your Trimester 2 books to your Teachers in the classroom OR to Ms. Wade in the Book Depository. If you do not require this book for the 3rd Trimester, PLEASE turn it in so that these books may be made available for students that need them. Thank you.
SOFTBALL TRYOUTS for the 2012 Skyline Softball team will be held Monday, March 12th, Wednesday, March 14th and Thursday, March 15th from 5-7 pm in the Aux. Gym. Those interested in trying out must have all Athletic paperwork, physicals and pay-to-play fees/waiver requests submitted before Monday, March 12th or you will not be permitted to participate in tryouts. Bring your glove to tryouts.
For those of you that registered for the AP Exams, remember that your final payment is due by March 30th. Payments can be made with Ms. Wade in the Innovation Office from 1:00 pm-3:30 pm.
Attention Freshman: Worried about finals? Come to Cookies and Cram on March 12th from 3-4 pm in the commons. Your Link Crew Leaders will be available to help you study for Trimester II finals.
Tryouts for the 2012 Skyline Baseball team will begin Monday, March 12th. Those interested in trying out must have all Athletic paperwork and pay-to-play fees/waiver requests submitted before Monday, March 12th tryouts from 5:00-7:00 pm. Bring appropriate equipment to tryouts.
SKYLINE VARSITY & JV BOY'S GOLF TEAM
The Golf Team tryouts are 2 weeks away. Interested players need to turn in paperwork and payment to the Athletic Office before tryouts. You will not be able to participate in tryouts without your paperwork and payment submitted. The season officially starts March 12th.
SKYLINE INTERACT CLUB
The Interact Club is holding a clothing drive. Please donate any gently used clothing that we will then give to the Salvation Army. The Clothing Drive will be held from February 13th-March 31st.
Do you like to get to know new people? Discuss World Events? Explore different Religions or ways of thinking? If yes, you should join the Diversity Club. We'll bring snacks, discuss different issues and have a multicultural banquet every Friday from 3-4 pm.
PTO THRIFT SHOP
Transportation funding for acadmeic as well as extra-curricular travel is now available thanks to a grant from the Ann Arbort PTO thrift shop. Direct requests to the principal's office.
SKYLINE HACKY SACK CLUB
Students interested in playing, learning and developing their skills with a hacky sack. Every Tuesday, immediately following school the Skyline Hacky Sack Club will meet.

In an effort to keep our students safe during drop off and pickup times, we have made some adjustments to the entry and exiting of the student parking lot at peak times of the day.
In the AM: There will be only one way In the Student Parking Lot between 7:30 AM & 7:45 AM
In the PM: There will be only one way Out of the Student Parking Lot between 2:30 PM & 3:00 PM
